Buprofezin is a Persistent insecticide and acaricide with contact and stomach action, used for control of insect pests such as mealybugs, leafhoppers and whitefly on vegetable crops. It acts on the nervous system of insects, disturbs the function of neurons by interaction with sodium channel. Also, by inhibiting chitin biosynthesis and subsequent cuticle deposition. It also effects on the hormone level s of nymphs associated with moulting and on prostaglandin synthesis. The inhibition of moulting of nymphs and larvae, leads to death.
